Energy Live Screen
Energy Live Screen is bespoke software for displaying live updates of a building's energy consumption and its associated costs and emissions.
Wired up to a display screen in your reception or foyer, Energy Live Screen can showcase your green credentials and raise the energy awareness of your staff and visitors.
By highlighting your building's up-to-the-minute energy performance, and making it accessible through figures such as cost and CO2 emissions, Energy Live Screen can help to foster a culture of energy conservation and sustainability at your organization.
Monitoring Your Energy Consumption is Easy...
But Getting People to Save Energy is More of a Challenge...
It's easy to monitor your energy consumption to find routine waste and to track changes in your energy performance. We make a simple software package called Energy Lens specifically to help with this.
However, once you've identified wasted energy, you need to do something about it...
It's relatively easy when all you have to do is change some settings on your building control system, or improve the insulation in your roof... But many of the biggest energy-saving opportunities are impossible to achieve without the active participation of the people that are using your building on a day-to-day basis.
You know, the people that leave their lights on all day, that consistently forget to switch the photocopier off, that insist on having the windows open when the heating is on full blast... Yes, this is probably sounding all too familiar!
Would it Help if Your Building's Up-to-the-Minute Energy Consumption was on Display for All to See?
We certainly think so...
Energy Live Screen's real-time display can make people immediately aware of how much energy they're using right now, how much it's costing, and what emissions it's responsible for.
- If most people have gone home or out to lunch, it will be obvious if the energy consumption hasn't dropped accordingly...
- If the heating is left running all night, Energy Live Screen can make that clearly visible to the people arriving in the morning...
- If a bank of lights is switched off, Energy Live Screen can immediately update to reflect the reduction in energy consumption...
- If the current energy consumption of the building causes the emission of 5 kg CO2 per minute, people can be made to know it and encouraged to reduce that figure!
Do You Want to Draw Attention to Your Green Building?
If you've worked hard to make your building a green one, there's a fair chance you want people to know it!
Anything that you can meter, we can turn into an Energy Live Screen display:
- Perhaps you've installed a solar-water-heating system or a wind turbine – Energy Live Screen can show just how much energy it's generated today...
- Maybe your building is collecting rainwater – Energy Live Screen can show what proportion of your water consumption has been supplied by that source since your rainwater harvesting system was installed...
- Or maybe you've installed a biomass boiler or a CHP engine – we can highlight the CO2 emissions that that system has offset.
Bespoke Software – It's Somewhat Exclusive...
But It's Customized Just for You
We develop Energy Live Screen to order – it's true bespoke software.
The downside of this is that we're limited in the number of Energy Live Screen projects that we can take on, and it's impossible for us to supply the software at a price that would make it accessible to everyone...
But, for those with the resources to fund bespoke development, we can develop a live energy display that highlights whatever it is you want to highlight in your building(s): electricity consumption, CO2 emissions, heating costs, water consumption, solar generation, wind power output – basically anything that we can calculate from your meter data.
If you'd like to discuss the possibility of an Energy Live Screen at your building, please email us on info@bizeesoftware.com.
Or, if you're not in the market for bespoke software at present, perhaps you'd like to take a look at our energy management software, Energy Lens, or our free online degree-day-data generator, Degree Days.net.
